About Scan Raccoon

Scan Raccoon is an independent service, published in France by a sole proprietorship, created to help everyone shop online without getting scammed. This page explains what the service does, how it works, and how it is funded.

Our mission

Online scams rely on haste: a price that's too good, a countdown timer, a seller in a hurry. Scan Raccoon gives you a structured second opinion in a few seconds before you pay: is the price consistent with the market, is the seller known, are any warning signs present?

What the service does

How the analysis is built

An artificial intelligence identifies the product and compares the listing's price with an estimate of the usual price, examines the condition, the quality of the listing and the known reputation of the seller or the site, and takes user reports into account. The result is a scam score accompanied by explanations.

Our rules

How the service is funded

Some links to merchants (Amazon, eBay) are affiliate links: they earn us a small commission if you buy, without changing your price. This commission never influences the product recommended. A paid plan gives access to more analyses. We do not sell your personal data.

Who is behind Scan Raccoon

Scan Raccoon is published in France by a sole proprietorship. The full legal information is in the site's legal notice. You can write to us at scanraccoon.support@gmail.com with a question, an error report or a request concerning your data.

The limits to be aware of

No service detects every scam perfectly. A listing can change after the scan, and a market price varies with condition and seller. Use Scan Raccoon as a decision aid and keep your own judgment for important purchases.
