What you can enter
- A site's address (for example a shop you've just discovered).
- A company or brand name.
- The seller of a listing, when you have their website or trading name.
What is examined
- The known reputation of the brand or site.
- Reports from Scan Raccoon users.
- Community reviews.
- Signals from the record: age, consistency between the name, the site and the legal notices.
- When the team has already verified a brand, its record says so.
Public records, handled with care
For some brands, a public record can be viewed on scanraccoon.com. The verdict issued by Scan Raccoon only appears there for the major brands we have verified; for other sites, only the community rating and the number of reports are shown, never the free text of a report. This is a deliberate choice, to stay factual and avoid any accusation without proof.
A decision-support tool
The result helps you decide; it doesn't replace your own checks. To know what to look at yourself, follow our list of ten checks before paying on a site.
How it works, in three steps
- You enter the site's name or address.
- Scan Raccoon cross-references known reputation, reports and community reviews.
- You get a clear analysis to decide whether or not to order.
Frequently asked questions
Is a site missing from the database necessarily suspicious?
No. It simply means there is little information available. The analysis says so clearly and invites you to cross-check with other verifications.
How do I report a fraudulent site?
From an analysis result, use the report button. You can also report to your country's official platform, such as Pharos in France.
Can I leave a review on a site?
Yes, from the public records, with an account: a rating and an optional comment, which you can edit afterward.
