Terms of Use and Sale
Last updated: October 14, 2026
These Terms of Use and Sale (the "Terms") govern access to and use of the services offered by Scan Raccoon, as well as subscription to the paid plans (Standard and Premium) available on the platform, as well as the purchase of scan packs.
By using Scan Raccoon, you acknowledge that you have read and accept these Terms.
If you do not accept these Terms, you must not use the services offered by Scan Raccoon.
1. Presentation of the service
Scan Raccoon is a product analysis service that notably allows users to analyse offers available online.
The service may in particular provide information or estimates regarding:
- the price of a product;
- a comparison with observed or estimated prices;
- an estimate of the market price or cost;
- certain potential fees, such as shipping or customs fees where they can be estimated;
- certain signals associated with the seller;
- certain signals that may indicate a risk or a potentially abnormal offer;
- other information generated from available data and the tools used by Scan Raccoon.
The results provided by Scan Raccoon are intended to help the user make a more informed purchasing decision.
Scan Raccoon does not, however, guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of all information displayed.
Results should be regarded as indicative information and do not constitute a guarantee that a seller is trustworthy, that an offer is legitimate, or that a product is authentic.
The user remains solely responsible for their purchasing decision and must carry out their own checks before any transaction.
2. Access to the service
Scan Raccoon may offer various features accessible free of charge or as part of a paid subscription (Standard or Premium).
The features available, usage limits, and associated conditions may vary depending on the plan chosen.
Scan Raccoon reserves the right to evolve its features, subject to users' rights and applicable legal provisions.
Certain features may require the creation of a user account.
The user agrees to provide accurate information when requested and to keep their login credentials confidential.
The user is responsible for any activity carried out from their account, except in the case of fraudulent use for which they are not responsible.
3. Use of the service
The user agrees to use Scan Raccoon in accordance with these Terms and applicable laws and regulations.
In particular, it is prohibited to:
- use the service for fraudulent or illegal purposes;
- attempt to circumvent the usage limitations put in place by Scan Raccoon;
- create multiple accounts in order to circumvent the limits of the free plan or the paid plans;
- use unauthorised automated means to access the service;
- attempt to disrupt or compromise the operation of the service;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to Scan Raccoon's systems or data;
- use the service to infringe the rights of third parties;
- resell or redistribute access to Scan Raccoon without prior authorisation;
- use the service in an abusive or fraudulent manner.
Scan Raccoon may take appropriate measures in the event of a breach of these Terms, including limiting, suspending, or terminating access to an account where necessary, subject to the rights and guarantees provided by applicable regulations.
4. Artificial intelligence features and automated analyses
Certain Scan Raccoon features may use artificial intelligence technologies or automated analysis systems.
These technologies may be used in particular to analyse images, identify products, search for information, or generate estimates and analyses.
Automatically generated results may contain errors, omissions, or approximations.
Scan Raccoon does not guarantee that the results generated by these technologies are always accurate or complete.
The user must regard the results as a decision-making aid and not as an official certification or verification.
5. Risk score and seller analyses
Where Scan Raccoon provides a score or risk indicator concerning a seller or an offer, it is based on the information and signals available at the time of analysis.
This information may in particular include, where available:
- the displayed price;
- a comparison with observed or estimated prices;
- the seller's tenure;
- publicly available information about the seller;
- certain reviews or reputation signals;
- certain elements that may indicate a risk of dropshipping or rebranding;
- other automatically analysed data or signals.
The score provided by Scan Raccoon constitutes an automated estimate and does not constitute proof that a seller is trustworthy or fraudulent.
A favourable score does not guarantee that a transaction will be risk-free.
Conversely, an unfavourable score does not constitute proof that a seller or offer is fraudulent.
Users are invited to carry out their own checks before any transaction.
6. Information from third-party sources
Scan Raccoon may analyse or present information from websites, platforms, merchants, or other third-party sources.
Scan Raccoon does not necessarily control these sources and does not guarantee the accuracy, availability, or timeliness of the information they publish.
Information displayed may change at any time.
Scan Raccoon does not, in particular, guarantee:
- the availability of a product;
- the accuracy of the displayed price;
- the availability of a promotion;
- delivery conditions;
- customs fees;
- the reliability of a seller;
- the authenticity of a product.
The user must verify information directly with the seller before making a purchase.
7. Paid subscriptions (Standard and Premium)
Scan Raccoon offers two paid subscriptions, Standard and Premium, which give access to additional features and a higher monthly number of scans than the free plan.
The characteristics, features, limits and price of each plan are presented at the time of subscription.
Each subscription entitles you, for each month of subscription, to access to the platform and to the features of the chosen plan, including a monthly number of scans.
By subscribing to a paid subscription, the user agrees to pay the price indicated at the time of order, every month.
Unless otherwise stated, the subscription is automatically renewed every month, on the same date as the subscription, until cancelled.
The applicable price is the one indicated at the time of subscription or, in the event of renewal, the one communicated in accordance with applicable rules.
Scan Raccoon may change the price of subscriptions. Any price increase is announced by e-mail to the account address at least thirty days before it applies, and only applies from the first renewal after that notice. A user who does not accept the new price may cancel the subscription before that date, free of charge; otherwise the subscription continues at the new price.
A user with a Standard subscription may switch to Premium at any time from their account. They then immediately pay the price difference, calculated pro rata for the time remaining in the current period; the renewal date does not change and Premium benefits are available as soon as payment is confirmed.
To go back from Premium to Standard, the user cancels the Premium subscription, then subscribes to Standard at the end of the period already paid.
8. Duration of the subscription
A subscription corresponds to a period of access of one month from the date and time the subscription is confirmed.
Access to the subscription features remains active throughout this period, subject to compliance with these Terms and the proper functioning of the service.
At the end of this period, the subscription is automatically renewed for a new one-month period, unless the user has cancelled their subscription before the renewal date.
Cancellation of the subscription may be carried out at any time from the user's account or according to the cancellation methods indicated at the time of subscription.
Cancellation prevents automatic renewal of the subscription but does not immediately end the already-paid subscription period.
The user therefore retains access to the subscription features until the end of the current period.
9. Payment
Payments are made through a secure payment provider.
Scan Raccoon does not retain your full payment card details where these are directly processed by the payment provider.
The subscription becomes effective after payment confirmation.
In the event of payment failure, access to the subscription features may be suspended or interrupted in accordance with the subscription conditions.
10. Cancelling the subscription
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or according to the cancellation methods indicated at the time of subscription.
Cancellation prevents automatic renewal of the subscription.
Unless otherwise stated, cancellation takes effect at the end of the already-paid subscription period.
You therefore retain access to the subscription features until the end of the current subscription period.
Cancelling the subscription does not automatically mean the deletion of your Scan Raccoon account.
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deleting the account immediately ends the current subscription and prevents any further charge. It does not deprive you of your rights to a refund, to withdraw, or of any other remedies available to you under applicable law. The processing of personal data following account deletion is described in our Privacy Policy.
11. Refunds
Except where applicable law provides for a right to a refund, subscription periods already begun are non-refundable, including in the event of cancellation before their expiry date.
Cancelling a subscription therefore does not automatically result in a refund of the period already paid for.
However, this provision does not limit the mandatory rights you benefit from under applicable consumer regulations.
Refund requests are examined in accordance with these Terms and applicable legal provisions.
In the event of a technical problem substantially preventing access to the paid service you subscribed to, Scan Raccoon may examine the situation and, where justified, offer an appropriate solution in accordance with applicable regulations.
12. Right of withdrawal and use of scans
Where you are a consumer and subscribe to a subscription remotely, you may benefit from a legal right of withdrawal in accordance with applicable regulations.
Where the right of withdrawal applies, you generally have a period of fourteen days from the conclusion of the contract to exercise this right.
If you expressly request that performance of the service begin before the end of the withdrawal period, you acknowledge that, under the conditions provided by law, you may be required to pay an amount proportional to the service provided until you communicate your decision to withdraw.
Where the digital service is provided immediately and in full following your express request and the applicable legal conditions are met, you may lose your right of withdrawal.
When you exercise your legal right of withdrawal, your request is handled in accordance with the applicable provisions of consumer law (in France, the Code de la consommation). Using one or more scans does not, by itself, automatically cause you to lose your right of withdrawal.
Scan Raccoon keeps, for as long as your account exists, the information needed to verify the actual use of scans, in compliance with the applicable personal data protection rules.
During the withdrawal period, an online withdrawal function is available from your account (“Withdrawal” link, at the bottom of the “My account” page). It allows you to submit your declaration and to receive an acknowledgement of receipt by email immediately.
The precise arrangements applicable to the right of withdrawal will be presented at the time of subscription where required by regulations.
The provisions of this article also apply to scan packs, under the conditions set out in article 14a.
13. Abusive use and refund requests
Scan Raccoon wishes to protect its service against fraudulent or abusive behaviour.
It is in particular prohibited to subscribe to a paid subscription for the sole purpose of intensively using paid features, notably performing a large number of scans, and then seeking a refund outside the cases provided for by applicable regulations.
Manifestly fraudulent or abusive refund requests may be refused, subject to consumers' legal rights.
In the event of manifestly fraudulent behaviour or abusive use of the service, Scan Raccoon may take appropriate measures, including suspending or terminating an account, where legally justified.
The information retained after an account is deleted for fraud-prevention purposes is described in our Privacy Policy.
This provision does not in any way limit the rights that consumers benefit from under applicable regulations.
14. Subscriptions and usage limits
Paid features are subject to usage limits, in particular a maximum number of scans per month, which cannot be carried over from one month to the next.
Applicable limits are indicated at the time of subscription or in the service interface.
Scan Raccoon may change the limits applicable to new subscriptions.
Any substantial change affecting an ongoing subscription will be made in accordance with applicable legal provisions and, where necessary, after informing the user.
The user may not circumvent their subscription's limits through technical means or by creating multiple accounts.
14a. Scan packs (no subscription)
In addition to subscriptions, Scan Raccoon offers scan packs bought in a single payment, with no subscription: a pack of 10 scans and a pack of 25 scans, at the price shown at the time of purchase.
Buying a pack is a one-time payment. It is never renewed automatically and involves no further charge. The price of a pack you have already bought does not change.
Scans in a pack are valid for twelve months from the date of purchase. After that period, unused scans expire and cannot be carried over or refunded, without prejudice to the statutory rights you have as a consumer.
Pack scans add to those of your plan. They are used last, after the month's free scans and then the scans of your subscription, if any; where several packs are active, the pack that expires soonest is used first. Packs give additional scans; they do not give access to the benefits reserved for subscriptions (for example unlimited history of checks or the absence of advertising).
A pack is attached to your account. It is personal and cannot be assigned, transferred or exchanged for money. The number of pack scans held at the same time on an account is limited to 200: a purchase that would exceed this cap is refused, and you are invited to use your scans before buying more. Scan Raccoon may change this cap for future purchases, without affecting packs already purchased.
Right of withdrawal: where you are a consumer, you have fourteen days from the purchase to withdraw, under the conditions of article 12. The scans in a pack are made available to you immediately following your express request, made at the time of purchase. If you withdraw, the unused scans are removed from your account and you are refunded an amount proportional to the unused scans (scans already used are not refunded), using the payment method used for the purchase and no later than fourteen days after you withdraw. The “Withdrawal” function on the “My account” page lets you choose the pack concerned.
Deleting your account ends your packs: unused scans are lost. This rule does not deprive you of the right of withdrawal where it applies.
Except in cases of withdrawal and the statutory rights you enjoy (in particular where the service is not provided), scan packs are not refundable. Articles 13 and 19 also apply to packs.
15. Affiliate links
Scan Raccoon may offer links to partner merchants or platforms as part of affiliate programmes.
When you click on certain links and subsequently carry out an eligible action, Scan Raccoon may receive a commission from the partner.
This compensation contributes to funding and developing the service.
The existence of an affiliate relationship is not intended to artificially influence Scan Raccoon's results or analyses.
Transactions carried out after your redirection are concluded directly between you and the relevant merchant.
Scan Raccoon is not a party to the sales contract concluded between the user and the merchant and cannot be held liable for the performance of that transaction.
16. No guarantee on purchases
Scan Raccoon provides a decision-support tool.
Scan Raccoon does not guarantee that an analysed offer is:
- authentic;
- risk-free;
- offered by a trustworthy seller;
- at the best price;
- free of additional fees;
- consistent with the seller's description.
The user remains responsible for their purchasing decisions and must verify available information before any transaction.
17. Service availability
Scan Raccoon strives to keep its services accessible and functional.
However, the service may be temporarily unavailable due in particular to:
- maintenance operations;
- updates;
- technical problems;
- third-party provider failures;
- Internet network issues;
- events beyond Scan Raccoon's control.
Scan Raccoon does not guarantee permanent or uninterrupted availability of the service.
18. Intellectual property
All elements making up Scan Raccoon, including texts, logos, graphic elements, interfaces, designs, software, databases, features, and content created by Scan Raccoon, are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Unless prior authorisation is given, it is prohibited to reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, or commercially exploit all or part of Scan Raccoon's elements.
Use of the service does not confer on the user any ownership rights over Scan Raccoon's elements.
19. Suspension and termination of the account
Scan Raccoon may suspend or terminate an account where necessary, in particular in the event of:
- breach of these Terms;
- fraudulent use;
- an attempt to circumvent limitations;
- a breach of the service's security;
- illegal use of the service;
- manifestly abusive behaviour.
Where possible and appropriate, the user will be informed of the suspension or termination.
This measure will be taken in accordance with applicable regulations.
The suspension or termination of an account does not deprive the user of their legal rights.
20. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Scan Raccoon cannot be held liable for damages resulting in particular from:
- a purchasing decision made by the user based on an analysis or a score;
- an error or inaccuracy in the analysed data;
- outdated information from a third-party source;
- the behaviour of a seller or merchant;
- the authenticity or quality of a purchased product;
- a temporary interruption of the service;
- a problem related to a third-party service.
No provision of these Terms has the effect of limiting or excluding liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
21. Protection of personal data
Use of Scan Raccoon involves the processing of certain personal data.
The arrangements for collecting, using, retaining, and protecting this data are described in our Privacy Policy.
By using Scan Raccoon, you acknowledge that you have read this policy.
22. Amendment of these Terms
Scan Raccoon may amend these Terms to take into account, in particular:
- the evolution of the service;
- the addition or modification of features;
- changes in regulations;
- changes in our practices.
The most recent version of the Terms will be published on the site.
Where required by regulations, users will be informed of significant changes within a reasonable time before they take effect.
If a substantial change affects an ongoing subscription and applicable regulations require it, the user may have the right to cancel their subscription in accordance with applicable rules.
23. Applicable law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by French law.
Where you are a consumer, you in any event benefit from the mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which you reside, in particular where you reside in the European Union.
In the event of a dispute, the user is invited to contact Scan Raccoon in order to seek an amicable solution.
Consumers also have the rights and remedies provided by applicable regulations regarding out-of-court dispute resolution.
In accordance with Articles L.611-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, every consumer has the right to use a consumer mediator, free of charge, to seek an amicable resolution of a dispute with a professional. Scan Raccoon has appointed Société Médiation Professionnelle as its consumer mediator.
The mediator may only be contacted after you have sent Scan Raccoon a written complaint (scanraccoon.support@gmail.com) that did not resolve the dispute, or that remained unanswered for two months. The request must be submitted within one year of that complaint and written in French.
You can contact the mediator by filling in the online form at https://www.mediateur-consommation-smp.fr/ or by post: Société de la Médiation Professionnelle, Alteritae, 5 rue Salvaing, 12000 Rodez, France.
